I love the look of this blanket so I've been using it for 8 months even though it's a VERY itchy material. The colour, stitching and design are great and part of that color is the shiny fabric used. But oh so prickly. The underside, which is made of a hard, softer material, is still too scratchy. In order to sleep in this duvet I have to fold the top sheet up and over the top because if any part of the duvet's surface touches my skin I cannot sleep. I'm not exaggerating - it's so prickly I can't sleep. Isn't it, I move and feel it scratch me; It's like just resting on my skin, it feels tingly. There is no smoothness and softness of the fabric at all. And for those who sleep at the foot of the bed (is that just me?), this can be forgotten. The blue fabric is even scratchier! Complaints about the fabric aside, it's so beautiful I gave it 3 stars anyway. If the fabric was even mediocre I would give it 5 stars because it is really well made and has such a beautiful design. But I just can't rate it that highly with such a huge downside that it's more of a "look, don't touch" situation where you have to sleep under.
