I did some research and watched a lot of videos. As a beginner woodturner, I wanted a set of turning tools that would last me a lifetime. Also, I don't have a mill or a place for it. After looking through many carbide tool kits I decided to stick with Rikon. Not only because I have a Rikon lathe, but also because of the quick change function. Of course I can buy individual carbide tools with a handle, but that would be very expensive. The Rikon kit is affordable and very easy to use. I love these tools and they work well. The exchange between the cutting inserts is easy to attach. They are a good weight and you can add weight if you wish. Rikon offers very good support for this tool set. I would recommend them to experienced beginners.
