A quality tool that I think will last a long time. Carbide tips are very good. My diamond had a broken tip on one side but it can be reversed so it's fine. They cut the shells I rolled with them fairly smoothly. It's big and a good weight. Packed in a beautiful box, so it will be a good gift. I've been looking at carbide tools for a while, expecting to switch from a mini lathe to a medium sized machine and for larger projects. I couldn't understand why a full size midi or carbide tool would cost $120 or $130 each when a replacement cutter is $15. A wooden handle and a short square bar cost no more than $100.
