SPEAKER VOLUME LOW: Landline

I bought this phone to replace my old Panasonic cell phone. It has all the features I loved on my previous phone such as B. Speak Caller ID and Call Blocking. I liked this style as it included some silver instead of just black. I read reviews that the speaker volume wasn't that high, but since neither I nor anyone in my family can hear, I figured it should be fine. It turns out to be a bigger problem than I thought. First, listening to my voicemail on my phone, even on the highest volume, strains my ears unless it's completely silent. I found I needed to focus more instead of multitasking, which was annoying, and started listening to my voicemail on the main speaker, which is louder. But it's not always so convenient to be stuck in one place. Second, my kids' schools are still juggling live and distance learning as we're still in the middle of a pandemic. Sometimes that means a conference call. Today my second grader had such a hard time listening to his teacher on the phone - it's hard enough paying attention on the phone! – that I had to switch it back to base. Which made it difficult for him to respond to it during the session as he wasn't standing next to him but against the wall. Also, it's not always convenient when my child/children want to move to another room to do their homework. So at the moment I'm not sure if I should replace the whole phone or order another phone with more advanced features. I don't think it should have been necessary and it's hard to deal with. Not to mention the additional costs. I'm disappointed that Panasonic missed out on this feature. Here, too, I have very good hearing – sometimes my children speak TOO well! β€” and it shouldn't be a problem that became a problem. The rest of the phone works perfectly.

Pros
  • TEXT TRANSMITTER ALERT: When you receive a call on your smartphone or Link2Cell mobile phone, the cordless phone speaks the name or phone number via text-to-speech
Cons
