So, I wish there were maybe some more guidance on Hemway's website on picking the right glitter, but it's kind of hard to photograph, so I'll tell you what I did and how it ended up and what I'd do differently.1. I didn't mix it with paint, I mixed it with glaze. I originally was going to use Rustoleum glitter glaze on top of a colored paint, and the paint I already bought had primer in it. I'm not sure it'd show up if I didn't use the glaze.2. I got the ultra fine mother of pearl to go over a mid-tone pink paint. It looks nice, but it's definitely not dramatic. If there's not light shining directly on the wall, you do not notice the glitter at all. It also tends to show up more green than I'd have preferred. If I had loads of time and money, I'd have done some samples with different glitter colors and sizes and probably used a larger size or I'd have matched the paint color with the glitter color, or maybe have gone with the silver, IDK. If you can, I'd maybe get a few different packs and test them out on a board with the color you want and check it out under the light of the room you're painting.3. I would use more glitter than recommended. I ended up having to do quite a few coats to get a decent coverage of glitter. In my second can of glaze, I added more glitter than the directions recommended and I was much happier.4. Don't forget to mix well! If you think it's mixed, give it a few more stirs.5. I used a small roller and rolled it in V-patterns, blending it in small sections. This got much better results than when my husband tried to roll silver Rustoleum glitter glaze in an up and down pattern (total disaster; also wasn't mixed well enough). All in all, I'm fine with the results, it's a good product, but it would be nice if the company could show some realistic photos of what their glitter looks like against different colors or with a glaze vs in a paint or just offer more design guidance. The other customer photos are great, but I think it caused me to be a bit more subtle than was really my goal since it's hard to judge when there's not a standard baseline.
