Good for general amplification like watching TV

I am diagnosed with hearing loss that is different for each ear. Sometimes I struggle to hear dialogue on the TV and one ear does not hear high frequencies as well as it should. While I "qualify" for hearing aids, I don't notice the hearing loss most times and I don't want to mess expensive aids. So, I have waited for the deregulation of hearing aids and the influx of affordable options to give some a try. And here we are.Banglijian are the first hearing aids I have tried. And they are the most basic option. Their sound amplification is across a broad spectrum of frequencies and their only adjustments are for volume and noise cancelation. There is no Bluetooth connectivity and there is no way to adjust volume for specific frequency ranges. True hearing aids are adjusted to make up for frequencies you can't hear well. What this means is that you could get some uncomfortable loudness with the Banglijian devices if they are turned up loud enough to make up for moderately severe hearing loss in a specific frequency range. But for mild hearing loss, they can be helpful in some applications. After much experimentation, I find that I can hear the voices on TV better using just one of aids in my ear with the most significant hearing loss. I turn up the volume just enough to equalize the sound with my other ear, and now I am rewinding shows much less to catch what is being said. I can wear these hearing aids comfortably four hours and I have never experienced any whistling or feedback. The number of different size ear plugs is generous, and I discovered I needed different size plugs for each ear.For the price, I feel like I will get plenty of utility out of these hearing aids. I never intended to wear these out and about, I would get in canal aids for that purpose. If I ever find high quality and reasonable priced in canal aids, I will definitely check them out to see if they brighten up my hearing life.
