These little helping hands really help a lot! They have many positions and some height adjustments to help you with your project. The alligator clips are strong enough to hold a board with just one clip if it's on the smaller side, otherwise you'll have to use multiple clips. What I like best about this device is that it can be easily flipped back and forth for soldering. This was my first helping hand block so I was a little afraid of damaging the circuit board and wires so I put folded cardboard in the clamp to protect the project. It worked very well! I tried to hold the wire without cardboard using clamps and I pierced my wire as the clamps are strong and a bit sharp. I bought two of these and my only regret is that I wish I had bought them sooner. Great help with soldering and holding your project in general (I've used it to hold objects while the silicone dries and that worked too).
