Review on ATPWONZ Connector Weatherproof Junction External by Srinivas Johnson

A great way to store an extension cord

I usually solder and glue when I cut an extension cord or any other type of cord. I came across these connectors at Revain and decided to check them out. I'm glad I did. It's a little tricky at first, but after you've got a few of these it's really easy. I suggest you put both end caps on each end of the wire you cut first. Note that one side of the connector is deeper than the other, and this is the side where the cable's physical connector should be inserted. I pressed down the connectors on each wire and then tightened them slightly to hold them in place while I worked on the actual connection. I stripped about 1 inch of the orange cover off my 3-wire (black, white, green) extension cord. I then stripped about 1/4 inch from each of the three wires. Twist the ends as tight as possible to ease insertion into the connector. Note that the connector is labeled L and N. L stands for the black wire and N stands for the neutral or white wire. The third wire, green/ground, goes in the remaining hole. I first looked at which wire went where, then twisted the wires so they lined up. I started by securely attaching and tightening one wire, then inserting the remaining two wires and tightening them securely. I didn't have to cut to different lengths. There will inevitably always be an occasional strand of copper from one or more wires. Simply cut off any loose parts to avoid cross connections and tighten the entire connector. First I tightened the middle and then hand tightened the two compression ends. They held the cord tightly and after pulling on it to check the joint there was no movement. Time will tell how waterproof they are, but at the moment I don't see any signs that they will leak. I intend to order another set as I know I will be cutting another cord in the next few days. So yes, I recommend them as very comfortable and mechanically reliable.
