Review on 🚰 InSinkErator Evolution Series QCB-AM Black Sink Baffle with Anti-Microbial Quiet Collar by Broderick Shetler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I had my doubts visually. Functionally perfect.

The one I received didn't look like the picture and I was disappointed; although I knew they had replaced the one in the picture with a newer design. When I took it out of the box the first thing I thought was gosh, it's so thin someone would grind cutlery without even trying. I was in the middle of a renovation so I wanted to use it as a placeholder for the real deal. Well I was wrong and this works fine. However, this statement has several caveats. I bought a new InSinkErator so the 14 year standard cut was much less noticeable. It was still Badger 5, so not much to write about. The collar is still "new", so it doesn't have many kilometers on it yet. If it gets dirty they take it out and replace it for a few bucks. For those new to this world of dirt, the InSinkErator has a flange that is part of the setup. You need to cut off the flange of the original collar and leave the rubber ring. That collar is a small detail. If you don't cut off the flange of the original part, it's a double layer and won't let things flow properly. I filled our sink with 10 gallons of boiling water and ice water and let it go crazy. The sink emptied as fast as the plumbing would allow, which took about 45 seconds. I've run the water at a full 7 gpm for 20 minutes and no issues over it so far. Below I found that the connection isn't tight and it's another learning curve. So visually I had my doubts. Functionally it was perfect.
