I have had this part for less than a year and it started to fail when towing a trailer. I only use the 4 pin connector and have never connected anything to the 7 pin. When I figured out why it wasn't working properly, I noticed that the 7-pin connector was corroded and connected between two pins. When I tried to clean the corrosion with baking soda mixed with water and a soft bristle brush, one of the 7 pin pins broke. I was very careful about cleaning and knew I had to do it as I had a trailer tow next weekend. When I tried to contact Kurt about this, I still didn't get a response. In the picture you can see the broken tab on the table just behind the block. The only thing I can think of is that the block door is not very tight and water will leak out. Obviously, water and electricity are corrosive.
