Review on Nilight TL 18 Surface Grommet Warranty by Andrew Cramer

Quality wasn't very good especially compared to another brand bought

I bought these lights to make [6x] 4" round taillights and another brand to make side markers on a prop truck I'm returning them and buying other brands after seeing the quality difference side by side. Also, two plugs were missing, one plug was cut off and one bulb was clearly dead (perhaps Revain's fault for listing them as "like new" , which also fixed this problem.) This brand had aluminum cables with insulation that was very susceptible to heat damage when soldered into a bundle, no dielectric grease on the terminals, went into the ferrule so freely I could see the light could easily pop out with a finger (planned to glue them), and the connector pins didn't have enough holding power (I planned to use the Gluing connector, it came off so easily. It is very important that the connection between the M/F pins is strong here, as this type of connector does not have a latch or other retention mechanism). Flashlights from other brands snugly fit the sleeve, have appropriate caliber copper wiring, dielectric grease preinstalled on connectors that snugly fit the flashlights, and excellent reflectivity. I cannot recommend these flashlights for the above reasons. The difference in cost between this and any other brand was only a few dollars. The cost of working with a light where a plug has popped out or the light has failed in service far outweighs that difference. Not to mention the potential safety hazard this poses as the plug type for this light has exposed metal contacts that could easily short out to the housing if the plug pops out of the light (could = no light and anything else on that circuit could be working due to a blown fuse, a wire burn if the fuse is not working, lack of a light ticket, etc.).
