Stainless steel is the only way out
I have used them to hold various hoses and hoses in the engine bay and under the car. These days they do their job well, I recommend stainless steel anytime you're doing something that might cause some moisture. I don't know how well a pad (plastic) handles temperatures over 250 degrees as that's the upper limit of what I've personally seen.
