failed after 9 months, which is too early for an unloaded power supply. I built my wife a new computer so she can teach remotely and I used this power supply for the build. This assembly has never been heavily loaded. There was no indication that there were any problems prior to MASTERWATT's failure. When that failed, the PC just wouldn't turn on. No noise, odor or visible electrostatic discharge. Went to the Best Buy store and bought a Thermaltake PSU (they stocked this at the store with similar performance / 80+ rating - we had to get it up and running in less than 2 hours). ) and her computer booted up again without any problems. I've tried "switching" the PSU to turn it on using pins 4/5 and 16/17 to no avail - it was dead. I love Coolermaster products - I've used their PC cases and fans for years , but I'll probably ditch their power supplies in the future and stick with their line of cases. You may not have had much luck with MASTERWATT, but I am writing from my honest experience. Photo after I removed it and replaced it with Thermaltake.
