I am very impressed with this wood turning tool set. I've been a locksmith for over 30 years. and have used carbide turning tools to turn several exotic metals as well as carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome molybdenum steel, titanium and many more. I am currently on SS disability for lower back and neck injuries. So I'm trying to use my machinist skills by trying to turn wood instead of metal. I was having trouble with a regular wood turning tool so I decided to try these tools with carbide inserts. Now I have no problems using them. I still have occasional hangs, but not as often or as badly as the hangs I've had with traditional rotary tools. A big plus of these tools compared to traditional turning tools is that I don't have to keep stopping to sharpen them! Just twist the carbide insert a little, tighten, and you're good to go. I would recommend this wood turning tool set to anyone who struggles with traditional turning tools and anyone who just wants to turn more wood and sharpen fewer tools.
