Bought as Christmas lights for windows. The use cases are great. Unfortunately, the backlight timer works the way "It" wants it to. We set the timer and it worked for the first 2 days, then each light comes on at different times of the day. One light goes on at 10am, then another at 1pm and another at 3pm. It doesn't make sense how they appear at different times of the day. We have to turn them off when we notice that they turn on, the timer basically doesn't work. And yes. We used a weatherproof ring, although they are inside we put new lithium batteries in them. If you only want to use them once or twice, then go for it!
