This should make it easier to check/adjust the tires on our van before driving. The actual pressure value is important to me, but more importantly all tires are the same. I haven't officially tested the accuracy, but it seems close enough for my needs. The part that goes over the valve stem is a little tricky, I haven't quite mastered the technique to get it right the first time, but once you get it on it becomes super easy. The ability to add air, check the pressure and deflate if needed is exactly what I was looking for! to the correct pressure (they all read about 5psi). Everything went smoothly, but the light did not go out. At first I was like, come on, the usual TPMS thing, I'll give her a few days. The lights are still not off so I'm like, okay, maybe one of the monitors is dead, okay. Then last week I was in the shop for a SMOG check and they deflated all 5 tires (the spare has TMPS) and the lights went out so today I decided to hook up a pressure gauge to see how the readings differ . . Assuming the store followed the sign on the door and aired me up to 35, this readout will read 38. That's not a huge difference, but it's enough to anger the TMPS instead of turning off the lights. I'm hoping the 3psi error is linear so I can just compensate for it, but when we're talking about 100psi truck tires on my RV I want to be as accurate as possible. Still a great product but probably worth checking your sensor and trying to quantify the error if there is one.
