When the lights came on I turned them on. It glowed red. I took another one, turned it on, it also glowed red, the third also glowed red. I was disappointed because it said "color changing light" but the colors didn't change. But after a minute or so. The color changed to white, blue, green, etc. It's so beautiful. Light to the core. We keep 2 lanterns in front of the house (on both sides of the entrance) for 30 days to celebrate our Tamil festival. I left the light outside but I wanted to enjoy the beauty so I also left two lamps on the windowsill. I can't say anything about the battery life as I've only been using the flashlight for 4 days.
