Put this in my wife's Cruze and the magnet is nice and strong. I usually use filter magnets, but the filter on it is a cartridge and there isn't a good way to put a magnet there without sticking it in the housing and possibly restricting the flow. Even if you don't think it matters, there's no harm in doing it. I usually get a coating of metal particles on the magnet during an oil change, so I know it's pulling something the filter can't.
