Not as good as the old LM72

I've been using Freud products for decades. I bought an LM72R010 to replace an old LM72 that has been sharpened many times but still cuts well. This is a ripping blade for gluing edges. The first thing that struck me was that the new LM72 was burning wood right out of the box. I thought it might be the hickory I was working with, but I noticed that it burns even on pine trees. Thinking my fence or blade wasn't level, I measured to make sure everything was level. I confirmed this by putting on my old LM72 blade and cutting through soft maple. The crack was what I always expected, smooth, no burning. I use a 1 HP Delta Contractors saw, old but good. Thinking the blade might have been improperly sharpened at the factory, I had a new blade sharpened by a shop I've been using for over 20 years. I reinstalled a new LM72 and it's still blown. The old one is still holding up great. The kerf geometry appears to be the same, but the two blades have other differences in the blade body. I contacted Freud and described the problem and they offered to replace the blade. That was a few months ago and I still haven't gotten a new knife. Also, I recently bought some Freud 7 1/4 blades for my Diamond Knockout Skil worm drive. I tried removing the knockout following Freud's instructions and couldn't do it without deforming the blade. I returned it locally and tried another, same thing. I finally bought an Irwin and had no knockout issues. I don't know what's going on with Freud saw blades, their other products seem good, I think I'll start looking at other brands of saw blades.
