I bought these stairs because I recently fell down a wooden ladder and severely injured my back. I wanted something that was safer than what I currently have, but also something that wouldn't damage my stairs. These steps meet both requirements, they make the stairs safer without damaging the wood. The only downside to adding steps to the staircase is that it creates extra cleaning work (the steps catch dirt and need to be washed and vacuumed). However, it is a small price to pay to keep you or your family, friends and pets safe from injury. One comment on the reviews that they don't have glue or adhesive: you have to peel off the thin plastic sheet on the back. before applying!
