Review on Mettler 9155 2000 Metrosene Polyester Thread by Tara Ford

Why buy CORE spinning thread?

This is a great thread and at the right price. This is a 50 gauge thread, meaning it's slightly thinner than regular general purpose threads. Although the staple is not listed, the 50 weight usually has a staple number 3, meaning it is made with longer threads than the universal threads. But there is no clamp on the spool so I can't tell. No matter what the main spun thread is. Corespun yarn is sometimes made by wrapping staple polyester or cotton batts around a bundle of continuous polyester fiber yarns during spinning and then twisting these yarns into sewing thread. The continuous polyester fiber core makes up approximately 60% of the yarn construction. This core provides a stronger and thinner thread, less thread stretch, fewer thread breaks, fewer seam puckers, fewer tangle-type thread breaks and longer thread wear. This thread has a polyethylene wrapping instead of cotton, which gives it better color fastness (although this product is white) and better resistance to detergents. Corespun thread is typically more expensive than polyester thread, but this spool contains 1097 yards with free shipping, making the price even lower than many other purchases. I plan to use this thread to make peasant blouses. Since my fabrics are thin, I wanted a finer thread and sharper needle. Since these blouses are costumes, they are not often worn. However, when sewing clothes from delicate fabrics, you usually don't need a "stiff" thread, because if you strain the clothes, the fabric will tear before the thread breaks. A good buy for my purposes.
