Great product, best for sewing

Mettler 9155-2000 Metrosene 100% Polyester Core Thread is one of the best products for your sewing machine. There is less lint and it feeds correctly, eliminating skipped stitches and saving future machine repairs. It's always a good idea to start any project with a new machine needle and a good spool of thread.

Pros
  • Sewing Thread
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

If you agree the thin thread is fine

As with most things, Covid-19 has forced me to do a lot more home projects. My stash of Mettler thread looked very scary so I bought this big spool. The thread is thin but strong. I don't know if I'll use this yarn for heavy cotton (like denim) but it works fine for lighter fabrics. You get a lot of threads for this money. I don't think I will buy another roll of (thin) white thread for the rest of my life.

Pros
  • Mettler-Metrosene Core Spun Polyester
Cons
  • Slightly torn

So much. Building Find any other topic.

I've always used Coats and Clark but couldn't find a C&C spool for over 500 yards so I decided to try Mettler. "low-lint" thread. After 20 minutes of sewing rows of patchwork blocks, I have to disassemble the machine to clean the GOBS and GOBS from fluff and dust from this thread. I'm so disappointed I don't even want to use it anymore. But unfortunately I bought several coils at the same time, so I got stuck on it for a while. Don't buy this thread. Buy ANY other brand. I'll go back to the…

  • 100% Polyester

  • Low Yield

Why buy CORE spinning thread?

This is a great thread and at the right price. This is a 50 gauge thread, meaning it's slightly thinner than regular general purpose threads. Although the staple is not listed, the 50 weight usually has a staple number 3, meaning it is made with longer threads than the universal threads. But there is no clamp on the spool so I can't tell. No matter what the main spun thread is. Corespun yarn is sometimes made by wrapping staple polyester or cotton batts around a bundle of continuous polyester…
