Review on Efficient and Reliable: GIRARD 2GWHAM Tankless Water Heater by Mark Caperton

Revainrating 2 out of 5

We will use our RV more now.

we like to use our camper van but our problem has always been that we didn't just go to the lake but used it in places where my wife likes to get dressed and shave her legs etc. A quick shower from a 6 gallon hot water tank really upset her. Well problem solved. The shower now lasts as long as it needs. However, take note! The on-demand water heater has a few things a person needs to know. You must feed him good, clean water. Put a water filter in front of it. Also understand that it needs the right thread to work properly. We've personally found that opening the flow control valve fully and then setting the outlet temperature to 108 degrees allows us to just open hot water in the shower or sink and it works great. Due to flow restrictions in an RV trying to get very hot water forcing a person to add cold water to bring the temperature down, this disrupts the flow and can cause the heater to not properly recognize the flow. I learned quite a bit of this from having homes on demand and understanding a bit of what it takes to get the job done. So take a moment, learn a little about how flow works, then find a temperature that works for you using just hot water and I have a feeling you'll love it as much as I do . In terms of durability, we took it easy. while we were in Colorado and in the Delta off I-70 east of Denver and with elevation changes from Kansas to Colorado and different water pressures and the like from different camps or from a pump and we had no problem just using hot water and simply set the temperature on the device according to our needs.
