Although there were no instructions on how to fit it I was able to do it. You only had to look inside the tank to understand it. I didn't need any tools, but there was no lock (screwed on to tighten from the inside) to act as a nut. to tighten it. So...I used an existing one repairing an old one that broke (18 years in this house; the plastic was worn). I think no harm, no foul. By the way, I'm 61 years old. an older woman who knows everything. If you are challenged by the unknown, ask a friend for help. It was really easy. I would give 5 stars, but because of the missing instructions and the omission of the clamping nut.
