I have a turtle and some fish in a 75 gallon aquarium. I used the fish filter they gave me for the aquarium and it didn't work well on my turtle, it was noisy and difficult to reach. I've been looking for a new filter for a long time and finally decided on this one. I've noticed a lot of people say it's very quiet and that's absolutely true! When I first installed the filter I had sand at the bottom of the tank, my turtle loved digging in it, kept getting stuck in the filter and fiddling with it. The filter didn't work well because there was sand in it. I wanted to get rid of the sand, but that just gave me an excuse to finally get rid of the sand in his pool! Now that there is no more sand in the tank, the filter works perfectly! If you have a turtle tank I would highly recommend it, they make a huge mess and it keeps the water really clean. Also, it's so easy to clean, it's very easy to pull out the sponge and even replace the charcoal when needed. I recommend this filter to anyone who does not have sand at the bottom of the aquarium.
