I selected one star. For some reason it shows two. I would give this item a 0 if I could. I purchased my 2 garage door openers in May 2022 and had them professionally installed after delivery. Three months later one of my g/d openers malfunctioned. I thought "no problem. I’m still under warranty. I’ll just call Genie for service. " I had to call Genie three times and leave a call back number before I ever heard back from anybody. I couldn’t wait on hold because hold time was an estimated 1.5 hours. Then I was informed that they do not offer labor under their warranty so I had to go through the troubleshooting steps then it was concluded that I needed a new circuit board. Now I will hand to pay somebody to install the new board. I shouldn’t be paying to have the unit serviced when I JUST purchased it. A couple of hours after I sent my documentation, I received a call from Genie asking me the color of the circuit board. I have no freaking idea! I don’t even know where to find the circuit board or how to take the opener apart! Why wouldn’t they have the schematics? They made this unit. So now I’m sitting here waiting for a call back so somebody can walk me through how to find my circuit board. Just went through the process of locating my circuit board. The agent ordered it. But the customer is charged for shipping! Terrible. Customer. Service. Update: I had to call multiple service providers just to get somebody to install the circuit board. Bc companies want to provide the part. The one company who will do the service will charge more than what the unit cost. DO NOT BUY from Genie! Their service is the absolute worst that I’ve encountered. Update: my second garage door opener has now failed! So now I can’t use the garage at all WTH
