I just LOVE this lens! I've bought lenses that cost many times more than this and they haven't wowed me as much as this little gem. It's lightning fast, insanely sharp, extremely light and small. My big Pentax K-50 (Pentax RULES!) and this lens makes for the most amazing street photography ever. The bokeh is just gorgeous! My camera feels naked without all the weight of my usual large lenses, and I was able to lug it to a presidential rally as P&S recently. Single-lens reflex cameras with separate lenses were banned at this rally. The guards looked into my cell and I walked straight ahead. HOWEVER, I admit it was useless at the event. It's not a zoom. It's not wide angle. Its 40mm Prime. My cell phone actually worked better, although it sucked too. So don't take that to the presidential rally. It's useless for that! If you're looking for photos of friends and family, portrait photography, or even close-ups (although it's not intended for macro photography and isn't its forte), I recommend this lens. I often have it on my camera. For the $100 I paid, this was one of the best lenses for the money. I own several Pentax bodies and have bought about 40 different Pentax lenses over the years so keep that in mind when comparing reviews. I also make a living from photography, although not in the way many people expect. I'm in an unusual niche market. I can't say enough good things about this lens. I wish I could try this on my old KX before I sell it.
