I managed to get started right away. Added apps, adjusted my settings, etc. Updated OS and touchscreen stopped working. I've been searching for an answer and the quickest and most reliable solution is to switch to the beta channel (which is set to 'stable') which skips the ChromeOS version with the issue. I didn't want to flush the power, I tried holding the power button for 10 seconds and tried holding the reset button at power on for a full reboot. The Chromebook is a newer model that we bought in 2018 (same specs and lower price). I was under the impression that Chromebook Android apps were made for tablets, but some of the ones I've uploaded, like Reolink, appear to be made for phones and are very clunky. Anyway, this is for my father-in-law. I'd have no hesitation in recommending it, although for a serious listening experience you'll need either a Bluetooth speaker or headphones.
