This pump is able to provide the necessary pressure for my reverse osmosis machine which I use to make maple syrup. The mount is excellent, helps reduce noise and the pump itself is quiet. It works in any position, but upside down it's said to decrease efficiency in removing air from the line, but I didn't notice a difference. It also has a second use, a vacuum pump. It's not very powerful, but there's enough vacuum to double the amount of sap coming out of the trees. When the vat is full I use it as a pump to pump out 5 gallons of juice for my reverse osmosis phase. It gets warm, maybe even a little hot after running for a few hours, but it keeps running. If the juice stops flowing and runs dry, it won't damage it, but will start pumping again as the juice flows. This is a great pump to use as a vacuum pump in a pinch.
