Review on Sceptre E325B-QPN168 2560X1440 DisplayPort Monitor with Built-In Speakers, Blue Light Filter, Flicker-Free, Frameless Design - IPS Technology by Cory Siegmann

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Five star value but four stars overall as stated here

This monitor (which reports itself as a Specter Y32 via EDID) is a great value, but I found something odd when I bought it: It also comes with an anti-glare cover, and at the time of purchase the kit cost forty Dollars cheaper than the separately sold monitor. Buying a kit is very good value - five stars, even without additional accessories. The higher-priced monitor alone only gives four stars in my opinion. 144Hz performance for me (output via the included DisplayPort cables from the RTX 2080) is excellent and brighter than my requirements. However, color reproduction is so-so - the blue channel seems to have a trade-off that can be seen (particularly due to the native 2k resolution) where every other line is treated slightly differently and hence banding is visible. The red and green channels don't seem to suffer. I think this is a design tradeoff as the blue channel is theoretically less visible to the human eye, but with the default Windows 10 background it's very noticeable to me. I bought two of these monitors and both have a faint but easily audible electrical hum or buzz. From now on I don't see this as a disadvantage. This hum is only active when a picture is displayed - there is no such hum in standby mode. The person is not dependent on the refresh rate. Even when an image is displayed on a monitor, the hum is still audible, especially at night. I didn't notice that with over-ear headphones. The viewing angle is significantly inferior to monitors 25% more expensive, but this is offset by an adjustable stand and included speakers not found in monitors with great image quality. in this price range. With a 32-inch monitor, the more modest viewing angle is quite noticeable for office work, but not terrible, and an easy compromise for me, as I prefer 144Hz as the UI navigation is faster and the adjustable height improves my posture significantly. After adjustment, the color reproduction is accurate and the color gamut seems to be quite wide. Factory settings look ugly to me. Color reproduction on both monitors I purchased matched with the same settings. The monitor is both horizontal and vertical, although given the mechanics of the stand, I wouldn't want to switch between these orientations that often. The speakers in the monitor work fine via DisplayPort. If you want to share a brief moment with a friend or ask a child to use a computer to use educational software, they represent conveniently without extra desk space. If you want high-quality sound, then as usual, you need to get it through additional speakers or drive via a much more expensive monitor. Finally, there is a very convenient carrying handle for the monitors, which I found surprisingly comfortable, and I found the installation guide and documentation that came with the monitor to be better than most monitors. , at the discounted price I bought it for and even with these compromises I would buy this monitor again as it offers a fantastic balance of size, features and price at a lower price point. Otherwise, I'd pay a little more for superior color reproduction and the best viewing angles that other monitors in this size class have to offer, and height adjustment via an external mechanism of my choosing, like a book, stand, or whatever.
