Review on EnGenius Technologies Long Range 11N 5GHz Wireless Bridge/Access Point (ENS500) by Mat Thompson
Solid and reliable product!
Originally started with 2.4GHz, upon mounting them on the roof I could see about 50 other APs and the one I was looking for but the vast amount on interference from all the other APs just did not make it possible for a steady link. Purchased these 5GHz radios and installed them in the same location where the other 2.4GHz radios were and perfect link, with power set to 15dbm I get full 300Mbps link at just under 600ft, no obstructions other then few chimneys and few satellite antennas on roof tops! I just hope that those will last for at least several years before weather and time destroys them.
