Review on 🔧 FRAM Extra Guard PH2 Oil Filter: Reliable 10K Mile Change Interval Spin-On Filter by Joseph Redding

Fram have recently changed the build quality of the filter media and removed the stainless steel backing which used to be a key benefit of this filter. The new medium has more surface area but is much thinner and has NO metal backing to prevent tearing. Fram says it's an "upgrade". In the new boxes, "DURABLE METAL SHIELD" has been replaced with "PERFECT SEAL GASKET". Apparently the pads have not been updated.
