Good product suitable for spare parts

Quality product at a good price. Fits my 2003 Ford Taurus with a mighty 200hp 24 valve V6 engine. Easy installation due to roughness on the filter housing. Be sure to fill the filter before installing it so you have oil pressure right after starting the engine!

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Very expensive

Great filter for oil filters and accessories

This is a great product! High quality filter and easy installation with comfortable grip. Fram oil filters are the only filters I have used for over 40 years. Never had a problem with one and they meet and/or exceed any warranty claims. I highly recommend these filters.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Lowest quality filters

I always thought Fram oil filters were the best. I was wrong, these oil filters are very low quality. glued to cardboard. The filter is not in the 2 sitting metal plates. I cut open one of these oil filters that I no longer need.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Poorly designed

Make sure the threads are the right size for your 2000 Explorer 4.0

2000 Ford Explorer 4.0 although My Garage said they fit but they didn't (threads were too big). that this filter has a 22 mm thread. I needed a 3/4" thread (PH8). I hate the hassle of returning things so I'll throw them away.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Crumpled

Not as good as before.

Fram has lost some quality standards and is resting on its laurels. If you do a little research and watch the videos with the filters open, you'll see what I mean. The reason I am buying this part number is because I have a customer who has a 2005 Ford Explorer 4.6L and the filter is in the recess. The fram filters are black coated so I can tighten the filter better.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Excellent filter with increased frequency range.

What makes it synthetic? Lol It looks like "digital" TV antennas. This is a reliable filter that lasts a little longer than usual. Turns out synthetics were available at a great price. I've never put off an oil change that long, but the reason I buy it is so it won't break while running. normal 5000 km. (Because if a filter fails, you've lost the engine forever at that moment, and it doesn't matter what you did or are doing before or after).

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Repair

First FRAM filter ever leaked to me!

Installed on my truck Dodge RM 1500 V8 5.7L HEMI 2008 and approx. After driving 3500km it started leaking. Upon further inspection I concluded that this was due to an improper seal but possibly a metal seam. Despite everything, it passed. I have bought countless frames for Dodge/Jeeps/Toyota/Honda vehicles in the past and have never had a problem. One is enough to mess up the whole bunch. I'll stick with another brand. I actually replaced it with a Mopar and it seems to be better made and has…

FRAM REPLACED THE FILTER MATERIAL IN ALL ULTRAFILTERS!

Fram have recently changed the build quality of the filter media and removed the stainless steel backing which used to be a key benefit of this filter. The new medium has more surface area but is much thinner and has NO metal backing to prevent tearing. Fram says it's an "upgrade". In the new boxes, "DURABLE METAL SHIELD" has been replaced with "PERFECT SEAL GASKET". Apparently the pads have not been updated. There is a great discussion on BobIsTheOilGuy and a few youtube videos if you want to…

Best regular oil filter in my 2002 Ranger 4.0 SOHC.

The only filter I will fit on my 2002 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 SOHC. On this engine, the filter sits so high behind the bell housing that it is simply impossible to reach and turn with a wrench. My only real choices are to pay a lot more for welded-on hex filters, pay someone else to change the oil, or use Fram Extra Guard. The Fram Extra Guard filter handle allows you to install and remove this filter without tools. I've never had a problem with this line of filters, including the 40 or so PH2…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
