It was a pretty good monitor out of the box and the speakers were useless as many say and it gave me about 3 months of satisfactory use. I even gave it a four star rating. But I think I've changed my mind. When I first got the monitor I struggled to get the color scheme right, but figured I could tolerate an unusually bright image when I got a 24-inch 1080p image, right? Another minor downside was that little "ghosting" effect that had dark text on a white background, but I looked at some other Revain reviews and found a workaround for that and it was only an issue when I was working with long documents and Reports have worked for schools. So I put up with that issue again because it was really nice to have a big monitor and overall it was a decent machine. Unfortunately, my desire to spend as little as possible eventually caught up with me. I recently noticed a vertical line of dying pixels about an inch wide running down the center of the monitor. Colors in the bar are noticeably darker than the rest of the screen, and text is distorted. I doubt this is a factory defect because I've heard others have had this problem. I would check if there is a warranty but I would rather buy another more reliable monitor than another cheap one that has all the issues I had with this one. Spend an extra $20-30 to get a high end screen and save the $165 I just wasted on mine. After all, you get what you pay for.
