Review on Men's Brooks Cascadia Mykonos Blue Peacoat Shoes by Ralph Gerry

Cascadia has been my favorite shoe for a few years. Whether it's on the trail, on the street, or just for carrying, the Cascadia is incredibly comfortable and reliable. I have ridden my Cascadias 1600 miles in the last 18 months and have tried 3 models. I have recommended her to friends and family. I sang her praises. But my romance with Brooks had just collapsed. 4 months ago I tried Glycerin as my new road cycling shoe. While I loved the soft foam feel (softest shoe I've ever walked in, to be honest), the heel cup was cut so high on the side and back that after 5 miles my Achilles and the bone on the outside of my ankle screamed in pain. I had to walk in my old shoes for two weeks before the pain subsided. So imagine my dismay when I received my new Cascadia 16s today and found that Brooks had switched to the same heel design on the new Cascadia! Online reviews of the Cascadia 16 called them "improved in every way," "the best shoe Brooks has made," and "the resurrection of the Cascadia." Sorry, but I have to disagree. More toe room, redesigned midsole, and swapping BioMoGo foam for DNA Loft foam. none of it matters if I can't walk around in it in my living room. and told me that all new Brooks would have higher lateral and rear heel cups. I told him that after years of loving Cascadia I would look for a new brand or stock up on old Cascadia 15s if I could find them until they (hopefully) come together with Cascadia 17s. By then they would come back .
