My laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad T480) only has a USB-C port, which is the only power source (as well as a way to connect the laptop to the dock). In order to use this portable monitor as a second screen, I have to rely on the monitor to power my laptop, which means I can no longer use the dock. I've tried using a bi-directional display port with USB-C cable to connect to this monitor, but unfortunately it doesn't work and says the monitor doesn't support UFP_D E-pin mapping. I tried contacting Lenovo support before purchasing the cable but never got a response. I was considering returning it in favor of other portable monitors that support more than USB-C, but the video quality on this monitor is said to be better than most, making it difficult to choose. I'm currently trying to circumvent the limitation by purchasing BlueTooth enabled accessories (as well as using a separate USB hub), so hopefully I won't need a docking station.
