The wire is cheap and small.
This lantern uses thin wires which makes the connection point to the lantern very weak. It MUST have big wires. Also, a small amount of glue splashing into the wire hole would have prevented the joint from breaking. I don't know why they charge $16 for this! Go American I guess.
