Review on 🌞 ACOPOWER ProteusX Waterproof Solar Charge Controller - 20A 12V/24V with LCD Display by Mark Fleming

This is a high quality solar charge controller with a simple and user-friendly interface. It works with all major battery types including the new LifeP04 batteries. I have a LifeP04 battery and that's why I got it. Check. I tested it with a small solar panel connected with a SAE connector cable. When the charger booted up it gave me a "PO2" diagnostic error. I looked at this code in the manual and it said I had a reverse polarity coming from the solar panel. I swapped the cables and it worked. I was impressed that he focused on this issue and pointed out what was wrong. I was able to set up the charger to use my LifeP04 battery using the buttons on the front. LifeP04 is displayed as "LFP". I found the menu system to be intuitive and easy to navigate. What I like Solid terminals with screw terminals for panel(s), battery and load connections. The block is filled with epoxy for sealing and protection. The LCD screen is easy to read and is backlit with enough distance to make reading easier. The operating instructions are printed in colour, comprehensive and understandable in English. The kit includes terminals and small mounting screws. Works with newer LifeP04 batteries. What I don't like The temperature sensor is not included - it has to be purchased separately. Summary and Recommendations There are less expensive solar charge controllers available, but you get what you pay for. This solar charge controller is easy to use, has good diagnostics and comes with a clearly written color manual in English. It works with all major battery types including LifeP04. As a percentage of the total dollar cost of installing a PV, the cost of this controller is small. I can only recommend this solar charge controller.
