I bought an Asus monitor in 2013 for a similar price and specs ($90, 1080p, 1ms response). I accidentally broke the screen so I had to replace it. I mistakenly thought this monitor would be about the same. Boy was I wrong! where can i start how about the only good thing: LATENCY: This is literally the only thing I look for when buying a gaming monitor. That's why I bought a 2013 ASUS and that's why I bought this one. This thing is fast and responsive and fun to play. the same as 2013. Manufacturers never specify input lag, but you can usually infer it from pixel response time and refresh rate. This monitor has a very decent 1ms/75Hz performance and as expected there is no noticeable input lag even when playing fast paced games from the 80's and 90's on FPGA hardware. Viewing angle is poor from left to right. but it's SO BAD top to bottom that it's impossible to position my head properly so I can see a flat top to bottom image. It's absolutely pathetic. It would suck to try to play local multiplayer on this junk. I've never seen a worse viewing angle on a display. maybe the original Gameboy or something worse. I'm not exaggerating at all. For comparison, my 2013 Asus had a viewing angle of over 170 degrees. BRIGHTNESS: good. I mean. it's quite bright when viewed directly, but looks washed out. Again, I'm comparing it to my 2013 model, which was EXTREMELY bright. COLOR: Colors are far from accurate, but only an idiot would buy $100 and expect accurate color reproduction. To compare to my 2013 Asus, the colors on this panel were too bright and saturated, but it looked great for gaming. The colors in this panel are washed out and lack contrast. It just looks awful. AUDIO: There are speakers, but again they are complete bullshit. that's fine (and at least it has speakers). However, there is no way to connect external speakers or headphones when using HDMI. What kind of.? Oh and get it no volume controls. You have to use the awkward button interface to get to the THIRD LEVEL MENU to adjust the volume! What kind of.? I've never seen anything like this in my life. PORTS: There are 3 ports HDMI, VGA + audio input. Haven't used VGA yet but will try it in a day or two. I don't even care about the audio input. If you're using VGA, literally connect your audio to NOTHING else and it will be better. In comparison, my 2013 Asus had 2 HDMI ports, a VGA port, and both audio-in and audio-out (which doubles for headphone output). It even had dedicated volume controls! What kind of.? -- CONCLUSION: This company created a product that neither the designers nor the quality assurance team seemed to care about. If you want a gaming monitor with fast response times and can ignore the TERRIBLE of everything else, this monitor might be for you if you can get it for less than $100. (and you can't find anything else in this price range). You literally have to buy everything else. Worse than the monitor I have not seen. If you're looking for a cheap gaming monitor, try something from Sceptre, Acer, or LG.
