Review on TERRAMASTER F4-421 NAS: Powerful 4-Bay Cloud Storage with Apollo Quad Core 1.5GHz for Plex Media Server & Network Storage (Diskless) by Robert Sisco

I recently purchased the F2-221 as an upgrade to my F2-220 which I purchased in September 2017. the writing speed was particularly attractive. It arrived in an f2-220 like box which was easy to open and very easy to set up, especially with the online instructions. Since I used my previous hard drives, I didn't even have to reformat them. I also transferred the TerraMaster 2GB RAM stick to the F2-221 relatively easily. The box is small, light and quite elegant, not to mention the silence. The main purpose of my F2-221 is a music and video server, so my main application for that is PLEX. Streaming to my PS3 or Fire TV Cube is very easy, although the controls on the PS3 tend to lag after a few songs and both have trouble decoding some multi-channel files. Playing music through my browser both at home and on the go is much more reliable. The web app makes it easy to access files from home, although the design might need some tweaking, particularly in the file browser, which doesn't allow sorting by date. The mobile app is ok but has the same drawback in terms of file sorting (also doesn't allow sorting by name). Overall I am very happy with my purchase and having had positive experiences with Terra-Master's customer service in the past I expect to be a repeat customer.
