This is a slightly more expensive switch of this model with 23% more silver in the contacts. I think the extra $4 was worth spending. This option is available upon purchase. The last time a contactor blew in our air conditioner was last year. It was the original that lasted nine years. I watched the technician closely as he installed the new switch on the unit. The bill came in, it was $82.50 for the switch, $60 for the call and the setup fee, so not cheap at all. Within a year it was out of service. I took a closer look and noticed that he installed a single pole contactor switch, not a double pole like the one he replaced (and which I kept). The replacement part had burned out at the contact points, all the grunting of the device every time it worked went through two contacts on one pole rather than four contact points on two poles. I looked online for the original switch. and settled on this switch even though it is slightly different from the original as the wires approached the switch differently. The technician cut the ends of the wires so that they were now actually configured for this new model of contactor switch. that all power to the device was off, I installed this new dual contactor switch on it. The wires made sense once I figured out what they did, and this switch works great. Great value for money, so easy once you're comfortable with the basic wiring. highly recommended!
