I have connected several Wi-Fi switches with this. Wi-Fi switches tend to be bulkier and don't have much room in the electrical box. This means the wire nuts take up a lot of space and interfere with the installation. Push cable nuts are smaller and allow multiple cables to be terminated in a lower profile configuration. Just think of a bunch of 8-12 gauge wires bundled with a large wire nut.
