Review on πŸ”§ Ceramic Stem Replacement: Lasco S-203-2C for Delta, Glacier Bay & Danze 0271 by Brent Rosecrans

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This works on older Glacier Bay (Home Depot) kettle bathroom faucets

My bathroom faucet is about 20 years old. It is now listed as "Glacier Bay Kettle 4". Centerset 2 handle small arc radius bathroom faucet in chrome.” As we went down the rabbit hole in search of replacement parts, it became clear that this replacement part was no longer in stock. Not sure if the current teapot faucet has the same internals. Of course, $35 for a new faucet isn't everything, but it should be fixable. I tried to buy only the gasket I needed. My local hardware store couldn't find an exact match. When I put it back together I had a dropper. Then air in the pipes, a thud, and finally a chaotic screech. A better solution was needed. Since we're thinking about renovating the bathtub next summer, I didn't feel like buying new fixtures. Also, everything should be fixable. Thanks to another author who posted a photo, I saw my faucet. Given the price, I took a risk. It works out. Note. When I removed the plastic protection holding the parts together in the box, the blue washer and innards popped out. Shut the drain first! Second, if I put a piece of plastic (reminds me of an old fallout shelter sign) next to the washing machine, it can go two ways. I turned it upside down. You want the flat side to face another piece of plastic that also has the same triangular cuts. When I put everything together (this piece is upside down) I got the same drip. I flipped it and it's fixed. I now suspect that I assembled the original part upside down when I replaced the washer a few months ago. live and learn
