I was a bit skeptical at first, but everything went away once I set it up. I bought the smaller version of the two (one for 100 lumens) and it worked great with my 3 gallon jar. The light itself is as bright as advertised and is suitable for a small aquarium or plant glass. I wouldn't recommend this for more than a 3 gallon tank, although maybe 5 gallons would be sufficient. You need 2 or 3 per 10 gallons. The cord is about 6 feet long and elastic, it is permanently attached to the body. The body of the light is made of soft rubber that HOPE is safe for the aquarium. The magnetic part itself isn't really fully sealed, which also worries me about corrosion. However, only time will tell these two points. The light itself gets very hot, but not enough to burn. I will monitor the heat to make sure the floating plants in my jar don't burn. All in all a great light for the price! I like it! Update: This light has been running for about a month now and I haven't noticed any corrosion, it's bright enough and the right wavelength for growth, it's not efficient enough to burn floating plants. 👌
