I received these to add to a hitch I made, I wanted to improve the quality of my previous J-hooks. I first tested them by driving to the lake with a roof rack. You did really well! It's easy to say they are much better made than my previous kits. They lock easily and securely with the throw lever and can be easily adjusted. Oversized kayak pads are pretty good. In general I am very happy with them!
