As others have said here my nailer was not making any audible leaks or anything. It stopped when I literally had 2 nails left to finish my trim job. I disassembled all major components to look for any obvious problems. Everything looked normal except that the small piston behind the trigger felt "soft". I gambled on it, ordered on Sunday, arrived on Tuesday and 10 minutes later the nailer was back in action! If your nailer is failing, that's probably the culprit, whether you hear air or not. There aren't many other parts on this thing, and the way the piston and firing pin are designed, the trigger piston is likely to fail first. A few notes for folks. Use a roll pin driver to remove the two pins behind the trigger. DO NOT use a screwdriver to remove the washer on the pin above the trigger, simply use the same punch to pry it out the side of the washer. So you can reuse it. Pay attention to the alignment of the trigger spring with the metal plunger of this device and make sure you return it in the same way. To take the old one out, simply use pliers to remove the gray outer protection and pry the inner plunger out of the outer sleeve. For the outer shell I used an 8p nail, stuck it in the middle, hooked the back of the case and pulled it out. Lubricate the new rings with some air tool oil and press them into place. Align the trigger and trigger spring, insert the top pin by lining it up through the trigger holes, and use a roll pin punch to replace the pins. For the washer on the top pin, you can use your thumb and approach it from the side of the pin first, then it should just come back. Before refilling the air, take a small poker, open the top of the nail feeder and make sure the hammer is fully reinserted. I forgot to do this and had misfires and jams that I had to fix when it got up and running again. Once the jam is cleared, the nailer is 100% operational again. I bought the 16 gauge nail gun used by CL along with the 18 gauge nail gun and narrow crown about 2 years ago for about $60 so it was a big deal, $20 invest to get them up and running again. easy.
