The design of this quick change pump is very convenient. It would be even better if the complete pump kit came with a cable set including a built-in fuse and sealed plug. This element can then comprise half of the pump-side connection. This is just a small detail that makes it more user-friendly. During operation, this device is easily audible with a high-pitched tone. I was able to shrink the bow of the boat by building a soundproof box with 1" closed cell foam. Not sure if this noise affects the fish. I received this new unit on November 6th and a week later installed. By January 6th the impeller shaft had rusted through resulting in complete inoperability of the power unit. This is an unfortunate failure mode as the device sounds like it is working but you will not get a stream. If you are not careful or the flow rate If you can't control it you could lose all your bait. I assume there are multiple factories that make them. Materials and quality of devices may vary depending on where your device is manufactured. I have not contacted Rule about my failure.
