Same problem Broken after 2 months of use

I agree with the previous post, the product sucks! Replaced the original 2 year old pump with a new 800 GPH rule and lasted 2 months. They are not designed for use in salt water and the spindle broke after about 4 trips of fishing. Complete junk and gets a guarantee on Rule products. Update: I spoke to Rule's product warranty department. 978-281-0440. They instructed me to fax them the receipt and they will replace the fax part with number 978-281-4320. Be sure to include your address. Still aโ€ฆ

Easy installation with only 2 wires to reconnect

Once you have the entire Rule Habitat Assembly installed with this motor cartridge, replacing this motor cartridge is very simple. My previous control motor worked for several years. Then, on one of the walks, the Livewell pump stopped sucking water, but the impeller was still spinning. I bought this replacement motor and just replaced the old one and voila it worked on my next outing. I don't know what went wrong with the old motor cartridge, whether it was the rubber seal on the motorโ€ฆ

The problem with these pumps is that they are made for that.

The problem with these pumps is that they fail quickly, especially in salt water. The small rotor or fan at the bottom of the pump is attached to a short shaft that spins, causing water to "pump" through the system. The problem is that the shaft rusts and breaks and you have a running motor but a pump that has stopped pumping water. I've had the boat for over 10 years now and I change the pump at least twice a year. The last exchange only lasted 2 months. The reason I keep buying and replacingโ€ฆ

2 months of work and the shaft rusted again! Cheap junk. Less than 1 star.

In 2019 I bought a lightly used 2019 295 Everglades which came with this pump of this brand and size and lasted just over a year. I'm not sure if the Rule was installed by the first owner or if it's from the Everglades, but in late March 2020 the impeller shaft rusted on it so I figured it was just a bad pump and bought another. I installed it on April 1st and on June 20th 2020 the impeller shaft was rusted and the pump failed 80 miles offshore killing our $800 fishing trip. ONLY 2.5 MONTHS onโ€ฆ

Premature failure - rough installation

The design of this quick change pump is very convenient. It would be even better if the complete pump kit came with a cable set including a built-in fuse and sealed plug. This element can then comprise half of the pump-side connection. This is just a small detail that makes it more user-friendly. During operation, this device is easily audible with a high-pitched tone. I was able to shrink the bow of the boat by building a soundproof box with 1" closed cell foam. Not sure if this noise affectsโ€ฆ
