My previous version has worked flawlessly for several years which speaks for the quality and reliability of this company. (1) The front-to-back pane guide is a major improvement over the previous drawer model. Easier to load and unload. (2) What really impresses me is the precise control with the fast forward or rewind function. I often fast forward and rewind when I watch movies. The device follows my mouse selections instantly and with great accuracy. The old version was a little buggy when using this feature. I didn't want to upgrade as the old version worked fine, but after watching a few movies; Precise fast forwarding and rewinding and easier disc loading justify the purchase price of this new version. I highly recommend this disc player. Also comes with a large compact travel bag. I use the device on a 27" iMac to watch movies as I don't have a TV.
