I used it to scrap old cracked caulking of my entry way panelled doors and had no problem with the blade carving out slivers of wood which happen when I first used a steel razor blade to do the work. The hold is like any other quality blade scraper of it type. The blades are stiff enough to hold their shape while apply enough force to get under the caulking yet is not razor blade share which cuts into the wood below it. Corner hold up quite well when angling the tip to dig into the corners to get the last of the material scrapped out that joint. The blade held up through several panels before I had to replace the blade in order to complete the fine cleanup I need before re-caulking the seams. Even then, I set the used blade aside for future use when first scraping of the first layers of a project that needs to come off first and then be finished with a new blade, so I get to levels of use out of each blade as needed.
